Bachman Airworks began in 2000, taking on the only maintenance facility on the Elizabethton Airport. Neal Bachman bought the company with the goal of providing a God-honoring aviation business for the local flying community and to provide experience for future pilot missionaries in the area of mechanics. Since then, 14 have gone through Bachman Airworks and have been well equipped to face many types of mechanical problems and repairs.  Several are now serving in overseas positions in various aviation activities.

Bachman Airworks has worked on both pleasure and commercial use airplanes. The company has served over 130 customers, providing annual inspections, aircraft rebuild, pre-purchase reviews, aircraft buying and selling, and routine maintenance. Bachman Airworks has always provided a friendly atmosphere to its customers.

Neal Bachman is originally from Pennsylvania, graduated from Moody Aviation in 1979 with an Airframe and Power Plant License, Commercial Pilot’s license, and served with Mission Aviation Fellowship on two locations in Latin America. While there, Neal flew and maintained an aircraft in the jungle. Later, he obtained his certified flight instructor rating and was licensed with an inspection authorization (IA).
